Kiruna Phase 1 Design

VAST was engaged by LKAB to investigate a geomorphic design approach for waste rock depositions at the Kiruna mine site. The aim with this project was to demonstrate that a geomorphic design approach would allow LKAB to meet their long-term rehabilitation goals. The design explores an overall vision for the area referred to as Södra Deponin (Southern Deposit) as well as an extended area including the Kirunavaara open pit and deformation zone to the north.
